Uganda Done Deal: URA FC sign keeper Omedwa from Arua Hill SC

Ugandan Premier League outfit URA FC have continued with their push to beef up the squad with goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa the latest addition on a two-year contract.

A statement on the club’s official website, confirmed the arrival of Omedwa on a two-year deal from Arua Hill SC: “URA FC is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa,” adding: “The shot-stopper joins us from Arua Hill SC on a two-year contract. He is the second custodian to join the club this summer after Denis Otim.

“While at the K’ongolo, he made 22 appearances between 2021-23 and kept 12 clean sheets.”

What did he say after putting pen to paper: “I am glad to be here and ready to prove my worth. I thank the club management for the trust they put in me.,” adding: “URA FC is a big club and playing here comes with a lot of responsibility which I am aware of. I know competition a lot but I will work hard to ensure I help the club achieve it’s goals each I get the chance to play.”

Omedwa who is also a professional teacher of Geography and General paper in Secondary is blessed with good ball distribution, perfect command, aerial prowess, and shot-stopping and becomes the ninth signing of the club this summer after teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani and Godfrey Sekibengo as well as Aliro Moses Okabo, Ibrahim Wammanah, Denis Otim, and Norman Namanya.
