Uganda Done Deal: Ghanaian Fumador Awisome completes Vipers SC move

Ugandan Premier League champions Vipers SC have completed the signing of Ghanaian national, Awisome Fumador making him the eighth and final signing in the ongoing transfer window.

Fumador, who operates as a center forward, has penned down a two-year employment contract with the Venoms. The 27-year-old comes in to bolster the attacking area, as the Venoms seek to compete on all fronts next season, including the CAF Champions League, FUFA Super 8, Uganda Premier League, and the Uganda Cup.

After completing his signing, the Ghanaian said as quoted by Vipers’ official website: “I’m really glad to be here. It’s going to be a good experience coming into such a big club. It will be a new challenge because there are top players here, so I am going to give my best and get through the levels.”

He has previously featured for Cape Coast Ebusuwa Dwarfs FC where he scored 20 goals between 2012-2014. He also traded at Berekum Chelsea where he netted 22 goals and at Elmina Sharks FC where struck six times. Fumador also played at Elmina Glolamp Academy and Ho Hostel FC where he scored 15 and 10 goals. He has previously received national team call-ups both at the Ghana U20 and U23 levels in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

He is expected to compete for a starting berth with other stars including Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Desire Tety, Abubakar Lawal, and Mohamed Salem Ekbad, and joins other incomings in the transfer window including Ekbad, Giancarlo Rodriguez, Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga, Richard Matovu, David Bagoole, Grant Matsiko, and Paul Patrick Mbowa.
