Uganda Done Deal: URA FC raid Wakiso Giants for forward Kimbowa

Ugandan Premier League outfit URA FC have announced the signing of forward Sharif Kimbowa on a two-year deal.

The dreadlocked star has joined the Tax Collectors from Wakiso Giants ahead of the new season as reported on their official website: “Sharif Kimbowa has completed his move to URA FC on a two-year contract from Wakiso Giants,” adding: “The dreadlocked energetic and composed forward caught the eye of URA FC management following the previous season impressive display at the Purple Sharks in which he scored nine goals from 24 games.”

His experience in the league originates way back from Busoga United where he played for two seasons between 2019-21 before joining Wakiso in 2021, playing for two seasons as well his move to URA means he has reunited with former teammates at Wakiso in Joshua Letti Lubwama and Aliro Moses Okabo as well as goalkeeping coach Swaibu Ssebagala.

On Monday, URA confirmed releasing eleven players including – George Senkaaba (released) Paul Patrick Mbowa (contract expiry) Patrick Matovu (released) Benjamin Nyakoojo (released) Yusuf Wasswa (released) Hannington Ssebwalunyo (contract expiry) Kabon Living (contract expiry) Kokas Alou (released), Micheal Lubowa (released), Salim Abdallah (released) and Ronald Dickson Kigongo.

URA also signed Enock Walusimbi on a two-year contract from Scottish League One side Peterhead FC.
