Uganda Done Deal: URA FC sign Laban Tibita from Busoga United

Ugandan Premier League outfit URA FC have added to their squad by signing Laban Tibita ahead of the new season.

The young midfielder has signed a two-year deal to ditch Busoga United and confirming his arrival, the Tax Collectors said: “URA FC is delighted to announce that Laban Tibita has completed his move to the club on a two-year contract,” adding: “The silky attacking midfielder joins us from Uganda Premier League side Busoga United.”

What did he say on putting pen to paper: “I am happy to be here and I want to make my time count. I want to help the club win trophies. URA is a big club and totally different from my previous club but I am ready to serve.”

Tibita had a fabulous and eyeing catching 2022-23 season that saw him help Busoga survive relegation as skipper before being named Pilsner SUPL midfielder of the season, making the team of the season, Busoga MVP as well as leading scorer with seven goals. Last season, he scored seven goals, four assists and was named Man Of The Match five times.

He is also a Busoga province player in the ongoing FUFA Drum tournament and has been influential this season netting two goals so far with one Man Of The Match accolade. URA becomes his fourth side in the UPL after Busoga United, Maroons FC, and Tooro United.
