Sporting Lagos has confirmed the departure of Kalu Chukwuemeka and Chisom Orji after the expiration of their loan agreements.
Both players joined the Lagos-based team in the 2022–23 season from Collins Edwin Sports Club.
Chukwuemeka ran the left side of the midfield, while Chisom played on the left, right full-wing, and through the middle of the park.

Sporting Lagos was promoted from the Nigeria National League to the Nigeria Premier League despite being only a little over a year old thanks in part to Chisom Orji and Chukwuemeka.
Since joining in March 2023, Chisom Orji has contributed two goals and two assists in 10 appearances, while Kalu Chukwuemeka has scored five goals in 11 games.

Both of Orji’s goals, one against Smart City and one against F.C. One Rocket in Sporting’s first NNL promotional playoff game, were nominated for the Goal of the Season award. However, his goal against Smart City received the most attention.
At the Naija Super 8 celebration, which the team won over Southwest rivals Remo Stars at the Onikan stadium, Orji receives a standing ovation after being named the fan’s player of the season.
On MatchDay three (3) of the NNL season, Kalu Chukwuemeka’s first goal for Sporting, which assisted in securing a draw against Gateway United, set off a series of events that won over supporters during his lone season.
In the series finale of the NNL playoffs in Asaba, Kalu added another goal with a beautiful finish past the Heartland FC custodian from a set-piece to cap off a memorable loan.
As they both go on to the next phase of their careers, Sporting Lagos wishes Kalu and Chisom the best.
