The head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, stated that his team knows what it takes to compete in the competition prior to the second round of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Last year, Rivers United advanced to the competition’s quarterfinals before falling to Yanga Sports of Tanzania.

This year’s competition’s next round pits them against Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante, and Eguma was confident they could overcome the obstacle.

In the opening round of the preliminary round, Rivers United received a bye while Filante defeated Casa Sports of Senegal.

“Our opponent ( Etoile Filante ) participated in the first round and they have match fitness and have also tasted the competition’s toughness

“But it will not deter us because we know what it takes to compete and we are walking towards I believe that at the end of the day will give a good account of ourselves“, he said.
