Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Katsina United Fined N1m Over Security Breach

Katsina United was fined one million naira by the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL board and has to play their next home game behind closed doors for not providing enough security during their matchday five match against Sunshine Stars last weekend.

When Katsina United and Sunshine Stars played one other on matchday five last weekend, Katsina United was punished for not providing enough protection.

The game was contested at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, and the Ikon Allah boys prevailed 3-2.

Katsina United faces additional penalties if they don’t pay the punishment within 14 days. The club has 48 hours to either accept or contest the punishment.

The NPFL board also commanded the club to implement a successful matchday security plan in order to prevent a repeat of the incident, which will result in harsher sanctions.
