Serie A side Napoli have confirmed the return of Victor Osimhen to Italy after a short visit to Nigeria by the 25-year old forward who is actually out due to injury.

Osimhen travelled to Nigeria few days ago for personal reasons after contracting a hamstring injury during October’s international break while playing against Saudi Arabia which is yet to allow him to resume matches with Napoli.

But the former Lille forward is already back in Italy to continue his recovering program under the club’s medical staff’s guidance.

“Osimhen is back. The medics will evaluate him tomorrow to see when he will be back on the field; it was predicted to be five or six weeks out when he first suffered the injury,” Napoli’s sporting director Mauro Meluso said, as per Football Italia.

“We have been talking about his contract for months, so even if the negotiations are getting on a bit, we will continue along the right path to take,” he added.
