Kenya Shabana secure second win of the season as Gor Mahia held

Shabana FC picked their second victory in the FKF Premier League following a 2-1 result against 10-man Nzoia Sugar at Homabay Stadium on Saturday.

Vincent Nyabuto scored the opener for the Kisii-based Glamour Boys before Benson Michira added the second. The Sugar Millers, who were reduced to 10 men with only four minutes played, pulled a consolation courtesy of Haki Victor in the 86th minute.

The victory was the first for Tore Bobe since firing coach Sammy Okoth and replacing him with former Gor Mahia defender Oscar Kambona on an interim basis. Meanwhile, champions Gor Mahia failed to put pressure on table leaders Posta Rangers after battling to a 0-0 draw against promoted side Murang’a Seal FC.

In another match, Posta were also held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Leopards while Bandari secured a 2-0 victory against Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Annex. The first half ended with either side unable to find the back of the net however, the Dockers’ breakthrough goal was scored by Derick Nsibambi in the 52nd minute and he went on to score another in the 69th.

On the other hand, Tusker’s Mike Oduor gave his team an early second-minute lead over Nairobi City Stars. David Odoyo extended the lead in the 19th minute and in the 42nd Mwangi Joseph found the back of the net following a free kick delivery from Mike Oduor. The first half ended with Tusker enjoying a 3-goal advantage.

Striker Dennis Oalo scored Simba wa Nairobi’s sole goal in the 63rd minute.
