Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed Mohamed Elneny sustained an injury during their game against PSV Eindhoven.
Elneny made a rare start for Arsenal on Tuesday night as the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw away from home in the UEFA Champions League. Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for the visitors three minutes ahead of the break before Yorbe Vertessen restored parity for PSV in the second half.
During the game, Elneny appeared to be hurt around the hour mark as the Egyptian was holding his left hamstring before he was shortly replaced by Martin Odegaard. Arteta spoke after the game and gave a hesitant response when asked about Elneny, but confirmed the 31-year-old’s injury.
“Yeah, we don’t know the extent of it but he’s done something,” Arteta said in the post-match press conference via Arsenal’s official website.
