Egypt Drama As Egyptian Cup Semi Final End In 34 Penalty Kicks

After the game ended in a 0-0 draw, Modern Future had to go through 34 penalty kicks before defeating Pyramids 14-13 in an excruciating shootout on Monday in the Egyptian Super Cup semifinal.

Pyramids lost the match at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi after Modern Future, who will play either Al Ahly or Ceramica Cleopatra in the final, wasted three spot kicks.

Osama Galal, a defender for Pyramids, missed two penalty kicks, the most important of which clinched Future’s victory.

It was far short of the 54 penalties that were taken in Washington FC’s 25-24 victory against Bedlington Terriers in a local cup match in England last year, despite the fact that it seemed like the shootout would never end at times.

There were 48 penalties in KK Palace vs Civics’ 2005 Namibian Cup match.
