Uganda KCCA FC rally to beat URA FC and register fourth straight win

KCCA picked their fourth win in succession after twice coming from down to beat URA 3-2 in a thrilling Ugandan Premier League clash at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Muhammad Shaban netted the winner late in the game to hand Abdallah Mubiru’s men all three points. Norman Namanya and Viane Ssekajugo scored for the tax collectors who played a high-tempo game but were undone by mistakes in the defence.

Ssekajugo netted into his net moments after giving David Obua’s side the lead and James Begisa short chested back pass was met by Shaban who pounced to net the winner. KCCA moves within a point of URA who sit 7th on the log with the Kasasiro in 9th position. At Wankulukuku, Patrick Kakande grabbed a brace as SC Villa moved into third place with a 3-0 win over visiting UPDF.

The army side finished the game with ten men after an early red card to goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa and skipper Bernard Muwanga turned Hakim Kiwanuka’s cross into his net for the third goal. Villa are on 25 points, seven behind leaders BUL who play Gaddafi on Wednesday.

At Kakyeeka, Henry Kitegenyi and Joseph Akwandanaho scored to give Mbarara City a 2-1 win over Wakiso Giants with Tom Masiko scoring a late consolation for the visitors. Elsewhere, Busoga United stunned visiting Kitara with a 2-1 defeat at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru. Joseph Matata and Emmanuel Ajo scored for the hosts while Paul Mucureezi was just a consolation. At Kavumba, Bright Stars edged Maroons 1-0 with Kokas Alou netting the winner despite an early penalty miss by Nelson Ssenkatuka.
