News Mosimane Returns To Saudi Arabia As Abha Club Manager

Pitso Mosimane has formally joined Saudi Arabia Pro League team Abha Club in Abha, Saudi Arabia.

The three-time CAF Champions League champion coach hasn’t held a management position since departing late last year from Al Wahda, a United Arab Emirates league team.

For the duration of the 2023–2024 season, he will be supported by his typical technical group, which includes Maahier Davids, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba, Kyle Solomon, and Hamad Alyami.

Right now, the team, ranked 17th in the Roshn League, is fighting to stay in the league.

Coach Mosimane and his skilled technical staff will be asked to pull off the unthinkable with the Saudi squad with 15 games remaining in the season.

The first league game between Mosimane and Abha is scheduled for February 15, 2024. The athletes will be coming back from competing in the AFCON and Asian Cup.

“I am happy to be returning to Saudi Arabia with an exciting challenge awaiting.

Abha Club has had a quick rise to the Saudi Pro League. Considering they were playing in the 3rd Division just four seasons ago,” said Mosimane.

“Now, as the club faces its toughest challenge yet. I am honoured that the Board has entrusted me with the task of keeping the team in the Pro League.”

Mosimane, who is regarded as one of the greatest African coaches, has been connected to the open coaching position at AmaKhosi on several occasions.

Mosimane, who helped Al Ahli Jeddah win the Yelo League and get promoted to the Pro League, will be spending his second term in Saudi Arabia.

He did, however, depart the squad prior to the Public Investment Fund investing heavily in the league’s top four teams.
