Atletico Bilbao defeated Atletico Madrid 3-0 on Thursday with to goals in the first half from brothers Inaki and Nico Williams and advanced to the Copa del Rey final on 4-0 aggregate.

After winning the first leg in Madrid 1-0, Bilbao swiftly increased their lead when Inaki Williams, his younger brother’s teed up, gave them the upper hand in the match.

Nico Williams received an assist from Inaki three minutes before halftime, reversing the roles and giving the Basques a three-goal lead.

Just after the hour, Gorka Guruzeta, who has scored ten goals in La Liga this season, added a third to complete the stalemate.

With 23 trophies under their belt, Bilbao is the second most successful team in Copa del Rey history, only surpassed by Barcelona’s 31. Their most recent triumph came in 2020–21.

Their 40th final, and first against 2003 winners Real Mallorca, who defeated Real Sociedad on penalties earlier in the week, will take place at La Cartuja in Seville on April 6.
