A certain Argentina superstar has reportedly refused to take part into the 2024 Paris Olympic Games while the country is willing to have one of Lionel Scaloni’s mainmen in it’s U-23 side.

Speaking to TyC Sports on Tuesday, Argentina’s U-23 national team head coach Javier Mascherano revealed to have had a discussion with Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria concerningh their positions on playing the tournament or not.

And the former Liverpool defender said the Inter Miami captain left it for later to reveal his stance while the Benfica right-winger made it clear that he does not intend to make it to Paris.

“I have spoken with Leo. We extended the invitation and we both agreed to talk again”, he said.

“I also spoke with Ángel and he confirmed that he appreciated it, but he has no intentions.. We have ruled him out.”
