Tanzania Prince Dube wants to leave Azam FC – reveals Thabiti Zakaria

Tanzania Premier League side Azam FC have confirmed receiving a contract termination letter from their venom striker Prince Dube.

The club’s Head of Information and Communication Thabiti Zakaria on Monday said the management has already responded to the 27-year-old’s request, who joined the Ice Cream Makers in 2020 after leaving local giants Highlanders.

“Azam confirms receiving a contract termination letter from Dube requesting that he wants to leave after joining the club in 2020,” said Zakaria, adding: “He has submitted his letter to the management which has already responded…the contract he signed before the start of this season keeps him at the club until 2026.

“As such, until now, he has two and half years to parade at the club and the management has maintained that he can leave only if the terms of the contract are adhered to.”

Dube’s absence from recent matches against Dodoma and Singida adds another layer of complexity to the situation, raising questions about his current status and future with the team. It’s, however, not known where the Zimbabwe national is heading to but time will tell after transfer window is opened.
