Uganda Vipers SC thrash Wakiso Giants to stay five points behind Kitara FC

Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC put four unanswered goals past Wakiso Giants in a night game played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Sunday.

Asiwome Fumador, Allan Okello, Pilsner Man of the Match Milton Karisa, and Mohamed Salem Akbad scored the goals to move third-placed Vipers to 35 points, five and four behind leaders Kitara and BUL. Vipers have, however, played two and one matches fewer than Kitara and BUL.

On their part, Wakiso – who requested league authorities to allow them to play this home match at Vipers’ home to share in the assumed big gate collections – are two places off the drop zone on 20 points. Vipers opened the scoring when Asiwome turned in Karisa’s assist on 15 minutes before Fazil Tumwine helped Allan Okello to Venom’s second in the 36th minute.

Kariisa then scored a goal of his own on the hour after being set up by Tumwine, the latter’s second assist. Ekbad rounded off an impressive outing for Vipers, masking most of Bright Anukani’s craft for 4-0 a minute to full-time.
