Olympic Games Waldrum Invites Familiar Faces Ahead For Banyana Banyana Game

Randy Waldrum, the coach of the Super Falcons, has selected Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, and nineteen other players for the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifying match against South Africa.

Two of the twenty-two players chosen to the match are seasoned defenders Osinachi Ohale and Ashley Plumptre, who plays for Saudi Arabia.

Deborah Abiodun, a young midfielder, and Uchenna Kanu and Esther Okoronkwo, two attackers, round out the talented group that is expected to secure Nigeria’s spot in the women’s football competition at the 2024 Olympics.

The Super Falcons will play their first leg at home on Friday, April 5 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. On Tuesday, April 9, they will travel to Pretoria, South Africa, for the return leg at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

One of Africa’s two tickets to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Paris this year will go to the winner of the two legs; Zambia and Morocco will compete for the other ticket on the same dates.
