Olympic Games Super Falcons Camp Swells To 18 As Alozie, Others Arrive Abuja

The Super Falcons Abuja camp have swelled to 18 players following the arrival of Halimatu Ayinde, Michelle Alozie, Nicole Payne and Rinsola Babajide before dinner time on Tuesday.

Thia was confirmed in a post on the official X handle of the Super Falcons.

The players that arrived early in camp are Chiamaka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale, Uchenna Kanu, and Christy Ucheibe ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic final qualifiers against South Africa.

The other players who joined the team are Toni Payne, Deborah Abiodun, Gift Monday, Jennifer Echegini, Shukurat Oladapo, Chidinma Okeke, Linda Jiwuaku, and Shakurat Oladapo. With these additions, there are now 14 Falcons players in camp.

Earlier on Monday, Rasheedat Ajibade, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Jumoke Alani were the first players to arrive.

Esther Okoronkwo, Ifeoma Onumonu, Asisat Oshoala, and Chiwendu Ihezuo are still anticipated.

The Falcons and South Africa will play the first leg of their Paris 2024 final qualifier on Friday, April 5 at Abuja’s MKO Abiola Stadium.

The second part is scheduled to take place in Pretoria on Tuesday, April 9.

The winner of the match between the Falcons and South Africa advances to Group C of the women’s football competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The other teams in the group are Brazil, Japan, and Spain, the winners of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
