Premier League Premier League Clubs Vote On Profitability and Sustainability Rules

Premier League clubs voted on Thursday to proceed with squad cost ratio regulations, which will take the place of the existing Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), after reaching an agreement in principle to implement new financial regulations.

Clubs who violate PSR, like Everton and Nottingham Forest did this season, will still lose points.

Everton was docked 10 points in November; this was subsequently reduced to six on appeal, and then they were docked an additional point, bringing their total points loss to eight.

In the meantime, Forest lost four points.

Just outside the drop zone are Everton and Forest, who are ranked 16th and 17th, respectively.

According to Sky Sports, clubs will probably only be able to use 85% of their earnings on agent fees, wages, and transfers.

If the revised rules are approved at the June Annual General Meeting, PSR will remain in effect for the upcoming term, following a transition period.
