The final of the women’s 60m World Indoor Sopot in Poland promises to be explosive. After the semi-finals run a few minutes ago, Ivorian Murielle Ahouré was awarded the best time with first place in the first round in 7 s 06 ahead of Nigerian Gloria Asumnu (7’11). Ahouré had the fastest time of the series Saturday.

The second set was won by Verena Sailer of Germany before the American Tianna Bartoletta, while the favorite for the title Jamaican Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce dominated the third set before Britain’s Asha Philip.

The final is scheduled for 17h 05 GMT. With two Africans in the finals, the continent can dream of a medal.
