AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Togo vs. Tunisia – Coaches and their statements

Coach Didier Six also claims his side is not a one-man team.

“A great team is built on a foundation and we have a great goalkeeper and a great centre-forward. We now focus on the Tunisia game and as already said this is a good team.

“We are in the so called group of death, it is not over for us at all and we will give it all our efforts.” He said:

Togo coach Didier Six:

“We were up against a very good Algeria team, but the win was deserved.

“Togo had the ambition to win.

“We have to recuperate now. We’re in the ‘group of death’ and we have to put more effort into what we do.”

Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic:

“Tonight was disastrous. I feel deeply ashamed. It’s hard to analyse.

“We didn’t play great football, but it’s hard to blame anyone. I made the choices. I take responsibility for what happened.

“Now we’ll sit down and think about the future of Algerian football.”

Tunisia coach Samir Trabelsi:

“All the team is fine, except Msakni, who had quite a strong case of angina.

“He trained alone with the doctor when we arrived here (on Sunday). For Monday’s session he trained with a group of injured players.

“But I’m not worried about him.”

Togo coach Didier Six:

“I don’t have a team which plays defensive football; the spirit of my players on the pitch is to win. Yes, mathematically, we need only one point, but the reality of our football is not to be content with that. We’ll be going for the win.

“This is an extraordinary day for Togo. We must not hide from the reality that this is the group of death, and now we have a chance to progress on Tuesday.

“The Tunisians have solid experience; they’ve been to many Nations Cups. We’ll do our best to succeed, but it’s going to be hard.”

Tunisia needs to win to go through following their 3-0 loss to Ivory Coast last time out.

They only beat Algeria thanks to an injury-time goal, their only one in the tournament so far.
