Top News QPR Help Leicester To Regain Promotion To Premier League

After Queens Park Rangers defeated Leeds United 4-0 on Friday, Leicester City was promoted back to the Premier League, guaranteeing that the Championship leaders will place in the top two of the standings.

Leeds, in second position, had virtually little prospect of advancing automatically from the Championship to the second division after the outcome.

With one game remaining, they are only one point ahead of Ipswich Town, who have two games in hand, and behind Leicester by four points.

QPR had an incredible first half, scoring two goals without receiving an answer.

Ilias Chair opened the score with a deflected shot from outside the area, and Lucas Andersen doubled the lead halfway through the first half with a curling finish.

Georginio Rutter, a French forward, missed a chance to put Leeds ahead in the second half despite their best efforts to exert more pressure.

The Scottish forwards Lyndon Dykes and Sam Field completed the 4-0 victory in the second half with headers from set pieces.

In an attempt to affect the outcome of the match, Leeds manager Daniel Farke went to his bench, and striker Mateo Joseph was the one who came closest, having Rangers keeper Asmir Begovic turn his close-range attempt wide.
