Serie A Roma Win Unfinished Game With Udinese After Ndicka Collapse

AS Roma won the Serie A match that was postponed earlier this month due to Evan Ndicka’s collapse on the field.

Bryan Cristante scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time to help Roma defeat Udinese 2-1 on Thursday.

The match, which was called off on April 14 after Roma defender Ndicka collapsed to the ground in the second half with what was first thought to be a heart attack, was completed in Udine between the two sides in 18 minutes and 30 seconds.

After he was released from the hospital, Roma claimed the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international appeared to have had a collapsed lung and that no cardiac problems had been found throughout any of the testing.

Since then, he has been cleared to resume training.

At the time of Ndicka’s collapse, the score was 1-1 thanks to goals by Roberto Pereyra in the 23rd minute and Romelu Lukaku in the 64th minute, which levelled the score.

In the fifth minute of extra time on Thursday, Cristante headed home Paulo Dybala’s corner to give Roma a crucial victory and move them four points ahead of Atalanta in the battle for Italy’s fifth Champions League qualifying position.

Daniele De Rossi’s club faces Atalanta, who, like Roma, have advanced to the Europa League semifinals this season.

The parties are also scheduled to meet in Bergamo the following month.
