The player has signed a four and a half year contract with the Ukrainian club and joins their expanding Brazilian contingent.
Shakhtar Donetsk have secured the signing of Brazilian left-back Ismaily for a fee of €4.5m from Portuguese side Sporting Braga.
He will join compatriots Fernandinho, Luiz Adriano, Douglas Costa, Taison, Alex Texeira, Alan Patrick and Bruno at the club.
The club is currently leading the Ukrainian league by 13 points and are still in the Champions League after drawing 2-2 with Germany’s Borussia Dortmund last night.
The 23-year-old leaves Braga in fourth place in the Portuguese league, some 16 points off leaders FC Porto.
Ismaily joined Braga last season from Othanense and made 27 appearances, scoring two goals.
