Paris Saint – Germain striker Ibrahimovic has been banned for two European matches after being sent off in the dying moments his team Champions League 2 – 1 win at Valencia.
On 6th March the Swedish footballer will miss the second leg as the first leg of the quarter – final should if PSG qualifies.
UEFA took the decision after a straight red card was issued to Ibrahimovic in stoppage – time in Spain; the punishment applies to the next European club competition for which Ibrahimovic is qualified for.
The player expressed his surprise, Ibrahimovic scored both goals in a 2 – 0 French Cup victory over Marseille.
On Wednesday Coach Ancelotti revealed that his club is willing to make an appeal to the European football governing body (UEFA).
“I am surprised, I was already surprised when he got the red card, and to get a two-match ban is incredible and I hope UEFA go back on their decision,”
“I really hope they will reverse it because to get two games is incredible. Yes, we will appeal,” Ancelotti said
