“Aminu is a big, young, powerful player with huge potential,” Vancouver head coach Martin Rennie said in a statement. “He is a left-footed box-to-box player who can bring a lot to the team with his ability to win balls in the air and connect passes.”

Abdallah added : “I am very excited to join Whitecaps FC. I am going to work hard and try my best to make the club and fans proud.”

With Abdallah officially signed, the ‘Caps midfield/winger group now includes three teenagers – American Omar Salgado, 19, and Gambian Kekuta Manneh, 18, are the others – plus Canadian Russell Teibert, 20, Ghanaian Gershon Koffie, 21, and Erik Hurtado, 22.
