Europe Boxing: Matthew Macklin ” I don’t foresee Groves knocking Froch out”

308199_1Expected on November 23 at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester to challenge Carl Froch (three time world champion professional boxer, unified IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion, and former two-time WBC super-middleweight champion), George Groves ( reigning Commonwealth titleholder in the super middleweight division) has vowed to become the first boxer to put an end to his supremacy in England.

Matthew Macklin, one of Britain’s top middleweights, has experienced plenty of gruelling bouts himself, and believes Froch will be the last man standing in a fire fight.

Asked about the upcoming battle between the two British boxing icons, Macklin ‘s prediction turned to the advantage of Froch.

“I don’t foresee Groves knocking him out or stopping him and I cannot for the life of me see him out-boxing him for 12 rounds. I can see him out-boxing him in patches, but 12 rounds is a long time to sustain it, ” Macklin said.

“Carl is going to put a lot of pressure on George Groves and I just think he has got the power to take him out.”
