During a crazy game, the Portuguese tactician of the Blues Jose Mourinho left out 35-year-old Frank Lampard in favour of 23-year-old German forward Andre Schurrle, who netted a brace for the Blues and Mourinho believes it is difficult to improve ageing players.
“I try to improve my players. But it is one thing to improve a player who is 20-years-old, which you can. If you ask me, can I improve Eden Hazard? Yes I can,” he said.
“Can I improve a player who is 30-years-old? How?”
