Football LDC-Kompany: “We face Barca, not Messi or Neymar”

kompany-23149Manchester City move to Camp Nou today (Wednesday) to try to clinch success against FC Barcelona in the knockouts second leg of the Champions League. Freshly removed by Wigan in the FA Cup (1-2), the Skyblues are poised to recover as soon as possible and overwhelm in Spain.

The Citizens will have to achieve a feat against the Catalan club if they want to continue the adventure in the Champions League. And Vincent Kompany is aware.

“There always exist names that stand out because it is an outstanding team. But the reality is that it is a team with players able to be a serious threat. We must be aware that we face Barca, not only Messi or Neymar. Blows can come from anywhere,” said the Belgian international of Congolese origin on the UEFA website before adding: “This is the third consecutive season that we play in the Champions League. We made progress in the European Cup.”

The crew of Manuel Pellegrini will show another face at Camp Nou to avoid another defeat. Stun already in the first leg, the Chilean coach will have no choice but to align a very offensive team to try to score at least twice.
