Nigeria was back to the wall before their second game in Russia World Cup 2018. But Ahmed Musa managed to net a brace and save a 2-0 victory for the Super Eagles.

Nigeria then knocked out being 3rd. But Ahmed netted a record in the tournament. That of being the first Super Eagle who scored in two different World Cups. After his brace against Argentina in Brazil FIFA World Cup 2014. He is also the first Nigerian to net a brace in a WC.
