Ivory Coast Serge Aurier : Tottenham Team showed their sympathy to the grieving mate

Son Heung-min hugs Serge Aurier after opening the scoring against Newcastle for the Premier League 36th game day.

Two days after the murder of his brother Christopher, shot dead, Serge Aurier, Tottenham’s winger chose to hold his place with Tottenham, winner (3-1) against Newcastle on Wednesday evening.

Jose Mourinho gave free reign to Aurier to decide of playing this game or not. The Ivorian chose to be on the field, despite the death of his younger brother. Both teams hailed the player’s courage on their official accounts before the game kicked off. 

In this difficult emotional context, the former PSG right-back showed his great mental strength. All his Spurs teammates wore a black armband. After opening the scoring, Korean Son Heung-min took him in his arms and fondly gave him a long hug. A supporting gesture showing that all Tottenham team was together with Aurier on the St James’ Park pitch.
