Premier League Mahrez and Laporte tested positive for Covid-19, Man City confirm

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez and France defender Aymeric Laporte have both tested positive for Coronavirus, Manchester City confirm earlier on Monday.

While they are preparing for new Premier League season, Manchester City suffers a great blow as Mahrez and Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19.

However, the Etihad Stadium outfit let know that none of the players show symptoms of the virus. As they will undergo a quarantine period as ordered by Premier League and United Kingdom Government.

“Manchester City FC can confirm that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19.” Citizens wrote on their official website.

“Both players are currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus.” the Manchester club precise.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Riyad and Aymeric a speedy recovery ahead of their return to training and the new season.” Man City add.
