Nigerian Players abroad Wilfred Ndidi stars as Leicester defeat West Brom 3-0 in league opener

Nigerian defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made a brilliant performance as centre-back despite being unfamiliar to that position as Leicester beat West Bromwich Albion in their opening game on Sunday afternoon.

Ndidi has been prominent for the Foxes in their convincing 3-0 victory over West Brom during first Premier League clash of the season. Timothy Castagne opened the scoring before a Jamie Vardy brace secure the victory for Leicester City.

With Brendan Rodgers’ team hinted by injuries of Morgan, Filip Benkovic and John Evans suffering a suspension, the 23-year-old Nigerian star was compelled to play at centre-back alongside Soyuncu.

However, Ndidi has been impressive all along the game. As he played all the 90 minutes and has had a 88% pass accuracy percentage.

Moreover, Ndidi completes three clearances as well as interceptions. He also made two tackles, blocked one shot and completed five successive long balls.

In addition, he registered 100% win on his ground duels against West Brom.

Leicester will take on Burnley next Sunday at Queen Park Rangers for their second league game.
