Nigeria How Super Eagles Players Performed Ahead Of Sierra Leone Double Header

It was a busy weekend for Super Eagles players as they were involved in action for their various clubs before the international break.

Most of the players who are first team players for their various clubs are expected to resume camp on Monday November 9 ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.
While some of the players featured for their clubs on Friday and Saturday, others played on Sunday.
Africatopsports.com monitored how these players performed for their club which could be a morale booster when they take on Sierra Leone.

Having already won their two previous AFCON qualifiers, the Super Eagles will be hoping to maintain that streak when they host the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium November 13.
After Sunday games which saw some of the players featured for their club, it is safe to say that there are no latest injury reported.

Goalkeepers

Daniel Akpeyi failed to keep third clean sheet as Kaizer Chief suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership.
Maduka Okoye
Okoye kept his first clean sheet for Sparta Rotterdam who won 2-0 away against RKC Waalwijk.
Okoye last week was criticised after his debut ended with a disappointing 4-0 at home, but the Super Eagles goalie put that behind him to claim his first clean sheet in his second leave start for Sparta.

Defenders

Leon Balogun played full time as Rangers extended their unbeaten streak this season with a resounding 8-0 win t the Ibrox Stadium against Hamilton Academical.
William Troost-Ekong
Troost-Ekong scored his first goal for Watford as the Hornets bounced from 2-0 down to win Coventry 3-2.
Ekong scored the equalizer for Watford before Ismail a dare completed the come back.
Olaoluwa Aina
Aina once again was in the starting XI and played full time for Fulham who lost 1-0 to West Ham at the London Stadium.
Jamilu Collins
Collins was in action through out the game for Paderborn who defeated Darmstadt 4-0 away.
The victory moved Paderborn to 4th place keeping their hope of a return to the Bundesliga alive.
Semi Ajayi
Ajayi played full time as West Brom search for a first Premier League victory seems to be far from reaching.
The Baggies were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham at the Hawthorns courtesy of Harry Kane’s goal.
Kevin Akpoguma
It was a disappointing result for Akpoguma and his Hoffenheim teammates as they lost 2-1 to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
Akpoguma was in action for 90 minutes.
Zaidu Sanusi
Sanusi has cemented his place in the left back for Porto.
He was once again in the starting XI and played full time as Porto
Tyroone Ebuehi
Ebuehi played a vital role for FC Twente who defeated ADO Den Haag 4-2 in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Midfielders

Oghenekaro Etebo
Etebo played for nine minutes as Galatasaray defeated Sivasspors 2-1 in the Turkish Super Lig.
The midfielder came in as substitute for Sofiane Feghouli in the 81st minutes.
Frank Onyeka
Onyeka featured for Midtjylland who defeated Koebenhavn 2-0 in the Danish League.
Joe Aribo
Aribo continued to impress Steven Gerrard since he returned from injury.
The midfielder scored a brace as Rangers trounced Hamilton Academical 8-0 in Sunday’s Scottish Professional Football League(SPFL).
Alex Iwobi
It was a disappointing result for Iwobi and his Everton teammates in the Premier League after a 3-1 loss at home to Manchester United.
Iwobi came in as substitute for Gylfi Sigurdsson as the Toofees loss a third consecutive games despite their impressive start to the season.

Forwards

Ahmed Musa remains unattached player since his contract with Al Nassr ended.
Denis Emmanuel Bonaventure
Emmanuel will be joining the Super Eagles for the first time and unfortunately didn’t score before his first international duty.
The Club Brugge forward played for 59 minutes before he was substituted in Brugge’s 3-1 victory against Oostende.
Paul Onuachu
Onuachu fired blank and didn’t complete full 90 minutes in Genk 2-1 win over St. Truiden.
The lanky forward was called up to replace injured Moses Simon after he was earlier placed on the stand by list by Gernot Rohr.
Samuel Chukwueze
Chukwueze was again frozen out in Villarreal squad who defeated Getafe 3-1 in the Spanish La Liga match on Sunday.
The Super Eagles winger was an unused substitute for the second time after be was also left on the bench in Thursday’s Europa League game.
Kelechi Iheanacho
Iheanacho was left on the bench in Leicester City’s 1-0 win against Wolves in the Premier League.
Despite Iheanacho’s performance in the Europa League on Thursday, Brendan Rodgers preferred Jamie Vardy up front.
Victor Osimhen
Osimhen scored his second Serie A goal for Napoli in their 1-0 win against Bologna on Sunday.
Osimhen who was suspended in Thursday’s Europa League game returned to the starting XI.
The forward scored the lone goal of the game but didn’t complete the game as he came out for Hirving Lozano
Chidera Ejuke
Ejuke came in a a substitute for Anot Sigurdsson in CSKA Moscow’s 2-0 win against FC Rostov in the Russian League.
