African players abroad Hodgson hails “solid player” Jeffrey Schlupp after his heroic goal against Spurs

Jeffrey Schlupp

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is happy with the performance of Jefferey Schlupp who denied Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham a goal on Sunday night.

Spurs were going towards an important away win at Selhurst Park the last weekend following Harry Kane’s goal.

However, Jeffrey Schlupp denied them a victory with the equalizer at the 81st minute of the game to compel both teams to points sharing. His second goal in 11 appearances across all competitions this season.

A performance that seduced his coach Roy Hodgson.

“His best position is one of the wide positions,” Hodgson told Football London about Jeffrey Schlupp.

“He can play in those wider positions, he’s very suited to it.

“That enables us to have the two front players.

“With two up front, you have to have two solid players like Jeff, Andros and Eberechi prepared to come in off the touchline.”
