African players abroad Baba Rahman : Ghanaian defender joins PAOK FC on loan from Chelsea

Baba Rahman

Black Stars left-back Baba Rahman has finally left Chelsea where he is not having playing time, to join Greek side PAOK FC until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old finds a new home where he can prove his worth as he was forced to play with Chelsea’s U23s.

Blues’ officials prefer to loan him out in another league rather than selling him to Championship sides the likes of Watford and Middlesbrough who were watching over him.

“Baba Rahman has today moved on loan to Greek side PAOK for the remainder of the campaign,” Chelsea wrote in a publication on their official website.

“Having recovered from injury, the 26-year-old left-back has appeared on occasions for Chelsea’s development squad this season but now moves overseas for first-team football.

‘His new loan club PAOK are known to Chelsea supporters for our games against them in the Europa League in 2018. They are currently fourth in the Greek Super League table.”

PAOK is the fourth club Rahman is joining on loan since signing for Chelsea back in 2015 from German side Augsburg, after Schalke 04, Reims and Real Mallorca.
