Bayern Munich second striker Thomas Müller praised Al Ahly after his side knocked the Cairo giants out in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Müller played 62 minutes against the Red Devils before coming out for Cameroon international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

He has then recognized that Al Ahly were a good and even excellent opponent to them even though they sealed their spot for the final.

“We are delighted with the qualification for the final. Al Ahly are the Bayern Munich of Egypt, and they are a big team with a wonderful fanbase,” Müller said.

“It’s great to reach the final and our biggest goal is to win the sextuple.

“We were the better side and should have scored the second goal earlier, but in the end, we deserved to win, and Al Ahly were an excellent opponent,” he added.

In addition, Al Ahly will face Palmeiras for the third-place game while Bayern Munich will be looking for the trophy against Tigres. Both games will be played on February 13.
