Africa Soccer DRC : Mazembe push former coach upstairs to Technical Director position

TP Mazembe have pushed their former coach Pamphile Mihayo upstairs to take up the position of Technical Director.

Mihayo has paved the way for new French coach Franck Dumas who has taken over the reign at the Democratic Republic of Congo team.

Pamphile Mihayo is appointed Technical Director. The new mission of “Baba” is to supervise all the training schools (School of Football Moïse KATUMBI and Katumbi Football Academy) and the clubs of the great family of TPM (FC Corbeaux, FC Ngwena, FC Écofoot Moïse Katumbi and CS Don Bosco who will be trained by Eric Tshibasu assisted by David Mwakasu, Eric Nkulukuta and Balthazar Kungila being maintained in physical preparation,” Mazembe’s statement reads.

Mihayo will also handle logistics such as arrival of players at training centre and manage transition on up-and-coming players to the senior team.

Mihayo was re-appointed as Mazembe coach in 2020 following his return from Belgium for coaching studies.

The new French technician has since named his backroom team comprising Slimane Raho (assistant coach), Alexandre Coppolani (physical trainer) and Robert Kidiaba as goalkeeper coach.
