African players abroad Man City told to consider “cheaper option” Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas urged Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to consider signing Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is less expensive than their top target Harry Kane.

The Gunners are having an early struggle in this new Premier League season with two losses out of their two games including a surprising defeat against newcomers Brentford on the opening day.

With Mikel Arteta’s future being uncertain at the Emirates Stadium, the club also changed their plans for the Gabon international as they are now open to let him go in case an “appropriate” offer comes in according to the Telegraph.

Considering that situation, the club’s former scorer Charlie Nicholas said Man City who are facing trouble in their quest to land Harry Kane from Tottenham should go for Aubameyang who will not cost them as much as the Three Lions skipper will do.

“They could go for someone like [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang,” Nicholas said on the Where’s Jeff podcast.

“It looks like something is going wrong at Arsenal at the moment, and we do know Aubameyang scores goals. He’s got pace, and he’s got movement. I prefer him on the left, but I could see something like that materialise.

“It gives Manchester City a cheaper option. He’s not as good as Kane, but he’s as good a finisher as Kane.”
