Dstv Premiership AmaZulu Sacked Head Coach Benni McCarthy

Benni McCarthy has parted ways with AmaZulu. And the ink isn’t even dry on the separation as reports have already linked him with the top job at Orlando Pirates.

According to several media reports on Friday, McCarthy has parted ways with Usuthu after a dismal DStv Premiership campaign this season.

As it stands, AmaZulu are dwindling down in ninth place in the DStv Premiership, having managed just five wins from 23 games.

Orlando Pirates recently dropped a bombshell when they confirmed that they may release co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids. Enter McCarthy, who formerly played for the Buccaneers.

McCarthy, now 44, is Bafana Bafana’s all-time top scorer with 31 goals. He also played 39 matches for Orlando Pirates, scoring 13 goals.

Should Orlando Pirates let go of Ncikazi and Davids – and not appoint former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt – then McCarthy could very well be their next coach.
