Ghana Malawi champions Big Bullets sign Ghanaian defender Isaac Badu

Malawi TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets have signed Ghanaian defender Isaac Badu on a two-year contract.

Bullets have released a statement on Monday announcing the recruitment of the free agent who is said to be aged 30.

Nyasa Big Bullets are delighted to announce the signing of Ghanaian defender Isaac Badu.

“The 30-year-old centre-half has joined The People’s Team on a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2024,” Bullets said in a statement.

Badu is said to have played for Hearts of Oak between 2013 and 2016 before he was released.

He is arguably the second ever Ghanaian to play in Malawi after goalkeeper Thom Aidu who starred for rivals Wanderers in the late 1990s.

He passed trials at Bullets while his compatriot Bright Agogo, a midfielder, did not impress Zimbabwean coach Kalisto Pasuwa.

Bullets have made the signing after having let go experienced centre-backs Sankhani Mkandawire, Miracle Gabeya and right-back Pilirani Zonda.

Bullets are chasing a fourth consecutive league title under Pasuwa and 16th overall while also eyeing participation in the CAF Champions League next season.
