Nigeria NPFL: Remo Stars Win Away From Home As Sunshine Draw Rivers United

The concluding part of Matchday 2 of the 2022-2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was concluded on Thursday across various venues in the country.

Ten goals were recorded with Remo Stars the only team to win away from home at the end of Matchday 2 games.

Remo Stars traveled to the Pantami Stadium in Gombe to claim a 1-0 victory against the host.

Andy Okpe’s goal in the 88th minute was all the Sky Blue Boys needed to seal their first away win of the season against a hard-fighting Gombe United side.

Defending champions, Rivers United failed to make it two wins from two games in Akure against  Sunshine stars as Ejike Uzoenyi scored in the 84th minute and canceled Rivers United’s lead in the 23rd.

Shooting Stars found Kwara United to be a challenging opponent as they played to a scoreless draw at the Adamasingba stadium, earning Kwara United a crucial away point.

In Benin City, Edo State, Bendel Insurance defeated Plateau United 2-1 to continue its strong league play.

In the 53rd minute, Sarki Ismael gave the home team the lead. Plateau United then tied the score on a penalty kick in the Mustapha Abdulahi, and Christopher Nwaeze scored the game-winning goal later on.
