The Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo served as the venue for both contests because Akwa United and Dakkada FC were the home teams.

Austin Onyeamachi of Rangers scored the game’s opening goal against Dakkada in the thirteenth minute, and Kufre Ebong equalized the score in the twenty-third.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance extended their unbeaten streak in the condensed Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to 15 games with a 2-1 victory against El-Kanemi Warriors, while Enyimba battled valiantly to get a draw at home.

After five consecutive draws, the Benin Arsenal’s victory on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City was their first triumph.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Ismail Sarki and halftime replacement Austin Ogunye each scored one goal to secure the Benin team all three points at home.

Just eight minutes into the second half, both goals were scored. Muhammed Hussaini’s penalty kick in the 69th minute cut the deficit in half.

The strike against El-Kanemi brings Sarki’s total to five. In addition, he set up Ogunye’s goal in the 58th minute.

Resurrection! The club wins for the first time in 61 days thanks to goals from Austine Ogunye and Ismael Sarki, who both score during Ramadan.

Bendel Insurance is currently 15 games unbeaten, matching Akwa United’s record set in 2021. This puts them in a strong position to qualify for the Super Six playoffs in Group A.

They have played 15 games and now sit atop the group with 31 points.

But El-Kanemi’s chances of surviving Nigeria’s top football league are further diminished by the defeat in Benin.

With just nine points from the same number of games, they are firmly entrenched at the bottom of Group A’s standings.
