Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti explained the reason behind his decision to bench Antonio Rüdiger for Eder Militao in their UEFA Champions league semi-final second leg clash against Manchester City.
Many Real Madrid fans routed the German centre-back to remain in the starting line-up after his strong performance in the first leg.
Rüdiger alone kept Erling Haaland mute and got the applause from everyone inside the club.

However, Ancelotti decided to start Eder Militao who is back after his one-game suspension due to consecutive yellow cards.
Speaking on his choice ahead of kick-off, the Italian gaffer said : “Rüdiger? Well he deserves to start too.”
“It can be a long game and the bench can contribute something important.”
