Nigeria Premier League Bendel Insurance Coach Odigie Promise Better Outing Next Season

Bendel Insurance FC of Benin City, winners of the Nigeria Federation Cup, have pledged to go back to the drawing board with the goal of performing exceptionally well in both domestic and continental tournaments next season.

At the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Bendel insurance defeated Enugu Rangers 1-0 to claim the 2023 NFF Federation cup.

The Benin Arsenal will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup the next year thanks to the victory.

After going undefeated in the condensed league, Monday Odigie, head coach of Bendel Insurance said that they lost in the Super Six because of weariness.

Odigie added that in order to win the Federation Cup, they had to put everything they had into the fight.

“It’s been a very tough season for us and we can only thank God that we got reward for all our hard work by winning the Federation cup.

” We were unbeaten in the abridged league but we lost our momentum in the Super Six and lost the title we so much wanted to win.

“Our players were fatigued and we don’t have a very large squad depth.

” It was a learning curve for us and I believe we can only get better next season. We the Federation cup against Enugu Rangers because we were hungrier and wanted the cup more. We are happy to have qualified to play in the continent.

“Hopefully, we shall strengthen our team for double assault on domestic and continental titles.

“We shall try and improve our depth by recruiting quality and experienced players however, we thank God for rewarding our efforts we a trophy and by His grace we won’t fail the government and people of Edo state for their support” the former Flying Eagles star concluded.
