Basketball Cote D’Ivoire Ends Nigeria Hope Of Reaching 2023 FIBA AfroCan

Nigeria lost the right to compete in the FIBA Afrocan Basketball Championship to Cote d’Ivoire on the final MatchDay, therefore they won’t be there when it starts later this year.

After defeating Nigeria 74-65 on Sunday, Cote d’Ivoire became the newest team to earn a spot in the 2023 FIBA AfroCan.

Nigeria staged a great comeback to overcome Benin 78-51 on Saturday after losing to Guinea on the first day, but they were unable to defeat the host, Cote d’Ivoire, on Sunday.

By defeating Guinea 88-64 in the opening game, Benin Republic 74-59 on Saturday, and Nigeria 74-65 in the third game, Cote d’Ivoire achieved a perfect performance.

With three victories in three games, Ivory Coast will compete in Group C of the FIBA AfroCan in July in Angola against Rwanda, Morocco, and the victor of the Africa Zone 1 qualification.
