Transfer window It’s time for him to leave – Ex-PSG director calls out Kylian Mbappe

Former PSG sporting director Leonardo says it’s high time for Kylian Mbappe to leave the club amid the communication war between him and the French side.

Kylian Mbappé is indeed at the heart of many media speculations and rumors. For several months, he has been in conflict with Paris Saint-Germain and he is often announced as being on the verge of joining Real Madrid.

As he approaches the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, he has refused to extend his contract with the Parisian club.

This situation has put PSG in a tricky position as they don’t want to lose Mbappé for free at the end of his contract. Consequently, the club have opened the door to a potential move this summer, seeking to recoup a transfer fee for the talented French striker.

“For the good of PSG, I think the time has come for Mbappe to go, no matter what,” Leonardo told L’Equipe.

“Paris-Saint-Germain existed before Kylian Mbappe and it will exist after him. He’s been in Paris for six years and, over those six seasons, five different clubs have won the Champions League (Real Madrid in 2018 and 2022, Liverpool in 2019, Bayern Munich in 2020, Chelsea in 2021 and Manchester City in 2023), none of which had Mbappe in their ranks. That means it’s entirely possible to win this competition without him.”
