Friendly Musonda on target as Yanga SC defeat Kaizer Chiefs

Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans (Yanga SC) registered a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in an international friendly match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

Kennedy Musonda made the difference after netting a late first-half goal to seal the victory thanks to a Maxi Nzengeli assist.“I think the more you train, the more you play good football. We are still knowing each other well and the best way to do that is by playing matches,” said Musonda after the game.

The match climaxed the ‘Wiki ya Mwananchi’ celebrations and proceeded a number of entertaining activities lined up on the day. Yanga used the occasion to parade their new signings, and the full squad but conspicuously missing from the list were Fiston Mayele, Yanick Bangala, Juma Shabani, and Mamadou Doumbia.
