Zambia Done Deal: Amokachi son Nazim Amokachi signs for NAPSA Stars

Nigerian striker Nazim Amokachi, the son of Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi, has completed a transfer move to Zambia Super League outfit NAPSA Stars.

The Pensioners confirmed Nazim from Lobi Stars of Nigeria alongside Zambian striker Saith Sakala, who most recently featured for Saudi Arabian side Al-Leewa and returns to the club for what will be his second spell after playing for them during the 2016 season.

“NAPSA Stars Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of two players, marking a significant step in the team’s preparations for the 2023-2024 season,” read a statement on their website, adding: “Zambian striker Saith Sakala, who most recently featured for Saudi Arabian side Al-Leewa has joined the club for what will be his second spell after playing for the Pensioners during the 2016 season.

“Sakala joins on a one-year deal and is expected to inject new energy and skill into the NAPSA Stars forward line. The club is also excited to welcome Nigerian striker Nazim Amokachi. Nazim, who is the son to Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi joins from Nigerian Premier League side Lobi Stars FC on a two-year deal.”

NAPSA CEO Ponga Liwewe expressed his optimism about the new additions by saying: “We have strengthened our squad with these two exceptional players, and we are confident that their contributions on and off the field will play a pivotal role in our success this upcoming season.”

NAPSA, who clinched fifth-place position on the log last season, are all set to kick-off the new season with an electrifying home match against ZESCO United FC on Saturday.
